Open Lecture on financial industry
On 29 October,2019,the Graduate School of International Administration (GSIA) held an open lecture entitled "My Experiences in the Financial Industry",which was delivered by Mr.Keisuke Yokoo,in cooperation with the Japan Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai Doyukai).
Mr. Yokoo joined the Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ), and, in the 1980s, had his first overseas experience at the IBJ's New York branch. After working at the IBJ, he held various senior positions, including President of Mizuho Securities and Vice Chairman and President of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives. Currently, he is Lifetime Secretary of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives and the Representative Director of the Keizai Doyukai Internship Promotion Association, while also serving as Adviser to Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Japan Research Center in Tokyo.
In his 90-minute lecture, Mr. Yokoo focused on his personal career path, from his childhood through his appointment as President of Mizuho Securities. Following the lecture, in an open discussion, Mr. Yokoo took an array of questions from the audience, which included GSIA students, faculty members and interested members of the general public.
Mr.Yokoo's lecture provided a wealth of invaluable insights into management practices and problem-solving approaches. We should like to thank Mr. Yokoo for these memorable moments and for sharing his knowledge and experiences with us.
