Faculty of International Humanities Department of International Exchange Studies In the career development course "Introduction to Aviation and Airport Careers A," students learn about careers related to aviation and airports. Every year, the school invites special lecturers, such as flight attendants and ground staff, to talk about their actual workplaces and career development during their school years.
The theme of the class on July 4 (Fri.) was "Work of a Flight Attendant. The special lecturer this time was Mr. Kota Aoki, a flight attendant. Mr. Aoki graduated from the University Faculty of International Humanities Department of International Exchange Studies in March 2024 and is currently working as a flight attendant for All Nippon Airways (ANA) on domestic and international flights.
Ms. Aoki entered our university Faculty of International Humanities Department of International Exchange Studies in April 2020. At that time, during the Corona Vortex, all of her classes were online, so her interaction with her professors as well as her classmates was limited. However, in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a flight attendant, which was the main reason why I applied to this university, I continued my studies with a firm and strong will despite the limited learning environment.
The University provides career support in cooperation with the ANA General Research Office. Through frequent meetings with the staff in charge, Ms. Aoki learned the meaning of working in the airline and airport industry, the responsibilities of flight attendants, how to provide hospitality, and the importance of communication. It can be said that her strong will and efforts, combined with the support of her university and the ANA Research office, have organically linked to the development of her career.
On the day of the event, "Aoki Senpai" appeared on stage in her ANA flight attendant uniform, and the students (juniors) listened to her story with sparkling eyes.
We, the faculty and staff of the university, sincerely support Ms. Aoki's further success in her future endeavors.
Ms. Aoki is also introduced on the alumni interview page (p. 19) of the university pamphlet for the 2026 academic year. Please take a look.
