Community-based learning!
Working together with local residents to solve problems

Josai International University is a community-based university. In particular, students studying at Chiba Togane Campus (Chiba Togane City, Prefecture) work with local residents to develop the city and solve problems. In cooperation with companies, organizations, and local governments, we contribute to the community with ideas that only students can come up with.

 

Japanese Language Support for Sri Lankan Children [Faculty of International Humanities]

"Easy" Japanese for foreign children

From 2022, we have been conducting Japanese language support activities for Sri Lankan children who have moved to Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture as a seminar activity of the Department of Department of International Exchange Studies Faculty of International Humanities. Through games and play, students taking the Japanese teacher training course and teacher training course provide children with opportunities to become familiar with Japanese and improve their Japanese little by little while having fun.

Drug Abuse Prevention Class [Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences]

薬物乱用防止教室

Helping elementary school students to understand the dangers of drugs

We hold "drug abuse prevention class" every year in elementary school in Togane-shi to have children know how drug, cigarette, alcohol affect body and mind. Children are made aware of the dangers of drugs by giving them a quiz about alcohol consumption and practicing how to deal with being asked to use drugs through role-playing.

Olive production support project [Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences]

Olive-producing area in Togane City

Togane City has been working on olive production since 2014, and has been collaborating with our university since 2020. Students participating in the olive production project toured six olive fields in the city and harvested the fruit. At the university festival, they sold olive products, presented Research, and taught how to make olive crowns, promoting the production of olives.

高校生へパラスポーツの魅力を伝える[福祉総合学科]

パラスポーツに理解を深め、誰でも遊べるスポーツを高校生へ伝授

学生が高校に出向き、100名程度の高校生を対象にパラスポーツ体験教室を実施します。車いすバスケット、ボッチャ、フライングディスクの3競技を通じ、お互いを尊重し理解し合える共生社会を支える福祉マインドを育成します。車椅子バスケットのプロ選手や専門指導員と連携した活動を通じて、福祉への理解を深めるだけでなく、多職種連携など就職後も想定した実践的な力を身につけます。

Project to eliminate the digital divide for the elderly

Students familiar with the internet will serve as digital coaches and conduct smartphone courses to improve the digital skills of seniors. Digital is a means, and the goal is for students, faculty, and seniors to all pursue happiness. *Project to be implemented in 2023. Projects implemented vary depending on the fiscal year.
