For scholarships applied for through a university, a certain number of applicants will be selected from the applicants on campus, and then the university will recommend them to each scholarship organization or institution. After that, each scholarship organization or institution will select applicants and notify the university of the results.
b. For scholarships applied through the university, only students who have a JIU transcript can apply. Freshmen should apply after their JIU transcripts are out. However, if you are going on to graduate school from JIU and your graduate transcripts are not yet out, you may be able to apply by submitting your undergraduate transcripts. For details, please check the application guidelines for each scholarship posted on the bulletin board.
c. There are some scholarships from private organizations that you can apply for individually. Not all scholarships for international students are posted at universities, so please refer to the "Scholarship Brochure for Study Abroad in Japan" published by the Japan Student Services Organization.
