A training session was held on June 1 at Chiba Togane Campus for official sports organizations to learn the attitude and way of thinking to balance academic and competitive life. The event was sponsored by the University Sports Association (UNIVAS), which promotes the promotion of university sports.

The lecturers were Mr. Shun Yagasaki from the UNIVAS General Promotion Department and Ms. Yukiko Morioka from KEI Advance Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), which develops student support programs for athletic clubs. From our university, 161 1st and 2nd year students from 5 clubs (hardball baseball club, soccer club, women's ekiden club, kendo club, and women's softball club) participated and learned how to enrich their careers. .

“Dual Career” refers to a state in which life itself is regarded as one axis, and another axis as an athlete is added to it. Mr. Yagasaki first said, "The concept of a 'dual career' is to get synergistic effects by working on your studies and club activities at the same time. I'm sure you'll be able to make use of the experiences you gain from each activity later in life." And he showed the guidelines for the life design of the students. Next, Mr. Morioka explained in detail the points to consider when considering dual careers, and said, "Please think carefully about what strengths you have." Participating students wrote down their strengths on a worksheet, and then discussed how to connect their strengths to their studies.

Mr. Morioka concludes, "After graduation, you will be asked, 'What did you learn, what did you experience, and how did you feel about it?' I want you to live a university life,” he said to the students. Students commented, "I was conscious of balancing my studies and club activities, but from now on, I want to think and act in order to create a synergistic effect." It was an opportunity.”
