Regional cooperation
2023.08.28
On August 25, Ichihara City, located in the central part of Chiba Prefecture, and the university concluded an agreement regarding cooperation in tourism promotion. By collaborating with the city, centered on the Faculty of Tourism, we will work to increase the non-resident population of the city, revitalize the region, and create human resources who will play a role in tourism promotion.
The agreement was announced at a regular press conference in Ichihara City, where Mayor Koide Joji and University President Kenji Sugibayashi signed the agreement and each gave a speech. Mayor Koide mentioned that the population in the "Minami Ichihara" area in the southern part of Ichihara City is declining, and said, "We would like to work with the university to create tourism content and plan events to revitalize Minami Ichihara. If the government is the only one to promote tourism, it will be difficult to come up with measures that will resonate with the younger generation. We would like the university to provide its knowledge and the students' sensibilities to breathe new life into the area." University President Sugibayashi then expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We would like to utilize the new ideas and youthful energy of our students to aim for sustainable growth through the utilization of Research results specific to this region. We will work with the local community to solve problems."
In September of this year, we started a project using the Yoro Valley in the Minami Ichihara area as a field, and we plan to revitalize the area while collaborating with local personnel such as the city and local tourism associations. Masu.
