The 3rd All Japan University Rubber Baseball Tournament SUMMER CUP 2023 was held in Nagano Prefecture from August 21st, and our university's rubber baseball club participated. In the first round at the prefectural Ueda Stadium, they faced Hokusho University (Hokkaido district representative) and lost the first match with a score of 3-6.

The team got off to a good start in the second inning, with Taiyo Hamaki (fourth-year student Faculty of Tourism) hitting a double to score the opening goal. Even after allowing a come-from-behind comeback in the 5th inning, Norihiro Murata (2nd-year student Faculty of Management and Information Sciences) continued to perform well with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, but the batting line-up was defeated in vain.

Captain Shunta Kubota (fourth-year student Faculty of Tourism) said, "Although we lost the first match, we were able to clarify our issues, and as a team, we gained a lot. We made use of the unity that only a small number of players can provide. I want to work hard in practice so that I can surpass the ranks of the ranks," he said about his future aspirations.
