“Athlete Nail Seminar” held; 50 club club athletes participated

一般社団法人アスリートネイル協会認定トレーナーの松田 千秋先生を講師にお迎えし、アスリートの爪のトラブル解消やパフォーマンス向上を目指した「アスリートネイルセミナー」を2月29日（木）、千葉東金キャンパスで開催しました。女子駅伝部・硬式野球部・サッカー部の学生とコーチングスタッフ約50名が参加しました。

アスリートネイルは、アートを主流とした一般的なおしゃれのネイルとは異なり、ケアに重点を置き、爪に備わっている身体の機能を最大限に引き出すことを目的としています。今、手の爪のケアが中心の野球、バレーボール、バスケットボール、テニス、ボルタリング、足の爪のケアが中心のサッカー、ゴルフ、ラグビー、陸上、トライアスロンなどプロスポーツ界で注目を集めています。

松田先生から爪は何からできているのか、爪の構造などについて一般な知識の教授があり、続いて、スポーツとの爪の関係性の説明をしていただきました。実際のプロアスリートの爪のトラブルの事例を参考に、スポーツをすると日常生活以上に爪に負担がかかるため、トラブルになる前に爪の定期的なメンテナンスをしてほしいと注意を呼びかけました。

後半は、爪の適切な切り方や爪専用のやすりを使って適切な長さに爪を整える方法について、実技を交えて講義いただきました。学生たち自ら爪を切ったりやすりで爪を整えたりと学んだことを実践することができ、普段気に留めていない「爪」というものに着目するセミナーとなりました。

Sensei Matsuda encouraged the students, saying, ``I hope that by paying attention to your nails like you would your body, you will be able to improve your performance and help you concentrate more on your competition than ever before.'' Ta.

Profile of Professor Chiaki Matsuda
I run my own nail salon in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, and as a salon certified by the Athlete Nail Association, I am in charge of nail care for a wide range of athletes including baseball, soccer, and competitive swimming.
In addition, I am a certified ``welfare nail artist'' instructor who performs nails at facilities for the elderly and people with disabilities, and a ``foot helper'' instructor who specializes in toenail and skin care.
