The student cafeterias (Tabu Terrace and Fuu Terrace) on Chiba Togane Campus have been renovated and will begin operating from April 1st. Tabu Terrace will be renamed "SOL Diner", Fuu Terrace will be renamed "LUNA Café", and the entire building will be renamed "VaL". .
The project team, which included students, incorporated opinions on the facility, menu names, and interior design, and proceeded with the renovation.
The students gave their opinions on the name and decided on the following.
SOL means the sun and LUNA means the moon in Latin, and the sun and moon cannot shine at the same time. Our hope is that this will be a place where students who would not normally meet each other can come together and interact with each other.
VaL, which refers to the entire facility, means "whale" in Swedish. It was named after IKEA, which was founded in Sweden, and the university's mascot character, the "Flying Whale."

With the full cooperation of IKEA Japan Co., Ltd., we use IKEA products for the interior, furniture, and decorations.
By using interior design from IKEA, which manufactures products that are sustainable, functional, and have excellent design, we created a warm and comfortable space.

Pursuing comfort
We aim to create a third place, a comfortable space that anyone can use without hesitation, with the bright and lively atmosphere of "SOL Diner" and the calm atmosphere of "LUNA Café." The SOL Diner side has staircase seating and is equipped with a projector. It can also be used for watching sports and as a gathering place. On the LUNA Café side, there are pendant lights and greenery everywhere, and there are many sofa seats, creating a relaxing space.

A taste to remember
For meals, we partnered with LEOC Co., Ltd., which has a proven track record in providing food services to hospitals, sports facilities, and schools. In conjunction with the renewal, we have devised an original menu for our university. We offer menus that are not only delicious, but also nutritional.
