Mr. Itai was presented with a letter of appreciation.

On March 21st, Yusuke Itai, a third-year Department of Physical Therapy Faculty of Social Work Studies, received a letter of appreciation from the Chiba City Fire Department for saving a man who suffered cardiac arrest during a futsal match through collaborative play.

A man in his 40s who was playing on a futsal court in Chiba City's Chuo Ward suddenly collapsed and went into cardiac arrest, and was asked for help in saving his life. Mr. Itai performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, drawing on his experience from a lifesaving course held at the university.

Mr. Itai continued to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cooperation with those who were playing with the fallen man until an ambulance arrived. "I was so nervous that I didn't even remember if I was able to do what I had learned. My legs were shaking, but I was determined to help. Having actually witnessed a situation like this, I wanted to be able to calm down and do it better." I also want to take advanced lifesaving courses and improve my skills.''
