"Wind Art Brut Kokoro Polyrhythm JIU," implemented as part of the 2023 Regional Studies Co-Creation Project A (instructors: Iga Satoko, Ota Yukio, Moriyama Takuya), was featured as one of the "Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's 2023 Comprehensive Welfare Promotion Project for People with Disabilities: A Collection of Eight Case Studies to Further Expand Cultural and Artistic Activities by People with Disabilities" in recognition of the promotion of regional exchange and human resource development through collaboration between welfare facilities, universities, and artists.
The "Collection of Eight Case Studies to Further Expand Cultural and Artistic Activities by People with Disabilities" aims to consider the direction that should be kept in mind during the period of the "Basic Plan for Promoting Cultural and Artistic Activities by People with Disabilities (Second Phase)," which was formulated in March 2023, and based on that, to provide hints and know-how for future cultural and artistic initiatives by people with disabilities to organizations implementing projects to support the dissemination of artistic and cultural activities by people with disabilities and welfare facilities for disabilities.
The Regional Studies Co-Creation Project was launched in 2019 as a class where students and local residents work together to solve problems. It is a class subject that contributes to the community with ideas unique to students. In particular, Regional Studies Co-Creation Project A held an exhibition of art brut works, also known as "living art" by people with disabilities, called "Wind Art Brut x Heart Polyrhythm JIU - Living Art Exhibition of People with Disabilities" at Mizuta Museum of Art of Art, our university. The exhibition ended with great success. It was evaluated as an initiative that deepened ties with the community, promoted ties between students and the community, provided economic independence and a purpose in life, and realized community care.
This year, the exhibition is scheduled to be held at our university's Mizuta Museum of Art from Tuesday, November 5th to Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
