As part of its annual projects based on its medium-term plan, Josai International University will establish a "Student Center" on the 2nd floor of the VaL building at Chiba Togane Campus, providing personalized support to each student, and will begin operations on June 16th.

In recent years, students have faced a variety of worries and challenges, including anxieties about interpersonal relationships, academics, career paths, and finances. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has weakened connections among students, leading to cases where students experience anxiety and loneliness during their student life. In light of this situation, this center aims to provide a safe and welcoming space where students can easily drop by and seek advice on various problems, as well as their physical and mental characteristics and health, thereby enhancing ongoing student support.

The Student Center aims to be a safe and welcoming place where students can easily drop in without an appointment, offering support for the diverse concerns they may have. Through this center, we hope to promote an environment where students can continue learning with peace of mind while building connections with others, and to provide an opportunity to rebuild a fulfilling Campus Life.

The center has social workers and school concierges on staff who work in conjunction with the student counseling room and medical office to provide each student with the support and information they need. The center also has a support room for students with disabilities and operates note-taking services to assist students with hearing impairments, promoting an environment where everyone can learn with peace of mind. In the future, we plan to conduct surveys to improve student satisfaction and provide diverse opportunities for interaction and learning, such as group work with international students.

Center Director's Comments

It's normal for anyone to feel anxious and want someone to listen to them during their university life. This Student Center aims to be a place where you can take a breather whenever you need to. We want it to be a hub for connecting with peers and faculty, not only for discussing your worries but also for taking that first step towards something new. Don't keep your worries to yourself; feel free to drop by the 2nd floor of VaL anytime. We always welcome you.
