message

Since I was a student, I have visited many hot spring resorts in Japan and overseas to conduct area research. One of the things that left a particularly strong impression on me was the many “Onsen temples” and “Onsen shrines” that enshrine Yakushi Nyorai that have been built in Japanese hot spring areas. While carefully protecting the hot springs, which are a natural resource, he is grateful for the blessings he has received from the hot springs both physically and mentally. Isn't it the starting point to learn hospitality for students who do? ``If you study and don't think about the Analects, you will live. This is the mindset of learning that a certain Confucius taught. I would like to share it with you here. Even if you study, if you don't think about it, you won't be able to understand the essence of things. Thinking without learning is self-righteous and dangerous. In these turbulent times, it is important to approach the field of tourism studies from both theory and practice. Over the next four years, I hope that you will acquire the ability to learn, think, and take action to grasp the needs of society, which is changing daily, and to solve problems.
