Two international students have been appointed to Chiba-kun Global Partners in 2023

「チーバくんグローバルパートナーズ」は、2011年度に始まった「チーバくんと共に千葉県の魅力を海外に向けて発信する大使」（略称：チーバくん大使）をベースとして発展してきた事業です。2020年度までの9年間の間に、本学観光学部からは、中国、ハンガリー、台湾出身の留学生計6名が任命され、千葉県内の留学生代表として、観光地の魅力分析や観光客の誘致などの専門性を活かした海外向け情報発信に尽力してきました。

千葉県が推進するこの活動は、2021年度に「チーバくんパートナー」へ、さらに、本年度(2023)からは、「外国人にも暮らしやすい県づくり」のため、「外国人住民の視点を県施策に活かす」目的から「チーバくんグローバルパートナーズ」へと事業名が改称されました。以上のように、目的は変わりましたが、本年度も引き続き、本学観光学部の学生が活動に寄与することとなり、観光学部4年生の朱 可凝さん（中国上海市出身）と劉 さん（中国桂林市出身）が、令和5年度「チーバくんグローバルパートナーズ」の任命式(4月20日)にて 三神 彰 地域づくり担当部長より任命状を手渡されました。両学生の今後の抱負についてご紹介します。

○ 観光学部4年生 劉 
私は、本学に留学して以降、ゼミナールの視察やフィールドワーク、プロジェクト授業の関係で、千葉県の多数の地域を訪問する機会を得ました。こうした大学生活を通して、「山もあり、海もあり」といった自然の豊かさと都会らしさを兼備する千葉県の多様な魅力を日頃から感じています。

今回は、ゼミナールの指導教員から声をかけられ「チーバくんグローバルパートナーズ」に応募することとなりました。私自身は、日本での生活の中で、言葉や文化、習慣の壁を感じ、戸惑う場面も数多くありました。会話の節々に対して、私たちが「日本人と交流したいと願う」言葉さえも誤解されることがありました。その時は「もっともっと勉強すれば良かったな」「もっともっと私の話を聞いてほしいな」との気持ちになりました。そのためにも、両者が各々の文化に対する理解を深め、そして、円満な会話ができる方法を模索することが重要ではないかと考えます。今回、任命された「チーバくんグローバルパートナーズ」としての役割において、そうした課題を乗り越えるべく多文化共生のための環境づくりを心がけて行動していきたいです。

I decided to apply for the "Chii-ba Kun Global Partners" program after being introduced to the activities of the "Chii-ba Kun Ambassadors" by our university's seniors during a seminar.

The results of that application were announced, and I was able to attend the appointment ceremony on April 20. There, more than 20 members selected from ten countries and their regions, including Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Taiwan, gathered and had a brief exchange. I was surprised to see not only foreign students but also several elders among them, including long-time company employees and retirees who have been living in Japan for a long time. Perhaps because of this, I feel very honored to have been appointed, but at the same time I feel a strong sense of responsibility.

Currently, I am studying about community development of tourist attractions, and I am conducting research on how a community should be to become a "town you want to visit," "town you want to live in," and "town you want to continue to live in. In the process of this research, I have learned that it is important to be tolerant and accepting of diverse cultures. I would like to make use of these learnings and, together with other "Cheeba-kun Global Partners," actively make proposals for the construction of a multicultural society in various parts of Chiba prefecture in the future.
