Logo created by students
Three third-year students from Faculty of Media Studies who created the logo mark for Sky Park Shibayama, a tourist facility in Shibayama Town, Sanbu District, Chiba Prefecture, were recognized by the Sky Park Shibayama Liaison Council on January 16th for their contributions to regional development.
In March 2023, our university signed a "collaboration agreement with Shibayama Town on regional revitalization, industrial promotion, tourism promotion, etc." Based on this agreement, Faculty of Tourism will use agricultural products through fieldwork in the town to connect tourism resources to various generations, and Faculty of Media Studies will be involved in creating the logo for the Sky Park Shibayama Vegetable Marathon, and the entire university is working to revitalize the region.
The logo mark was created as part of a second-year class in New Media Course, Department of Department of Media And Communications Faculty of Media Studies Studies, starting in November 2023.The work was carried out by a team of about three students, and the final design was selected from approximately 20 works before being officially adopted.
On the same day, at the "Sky Park Shibayama" logo completion presentation held at the Museum of Aeronautical Sciences (Shibayama-machi, Sanbu-gun, Chiba Prefecture), the three creators, Harada Nagisa, Tomioka Saki, and Tominaga Yui, were presented with a letter of appreciation and a prize. Looking back on the production process, the students commented, "We researched Sky Park Shibayama, visited the site, and thought about creating a logo that incorporated many of its features. We had a lot of fun during the logo production period. We were happy to have been given this valuable opportunity."
After the completion presentation, we toured the Sky Park Shibayama area and had pleasant conversations with the council members, including the mayor of Shibayama.
