The Cannes Film Festival is a world-renowned film festival held annually in Cannes, a city in southern France. Outstanding films and film industry professionals from around the world gather here for the premieres and screenings of new movies. The Palme d'Or, the festival's highest award, is considered one of the most prestigious in the film industry, making it a coveted stage for many directors and actors. It is an important event for showcasing the artistic and cultural value of film to the world.

This film originated from the global short film production competition "48 Hour Film Project (48HFP)." The 48HFP is held in approximately 120 cities worldwide and receives around 5,000 entries each year, under the demanding rule that the entire film production process, from scriptwriting to shooting and editing, must be completed within just 48 hours.

Films that win the preliminary rounds in each city advance to the world competition "Filmpalooza," and from there, approximately 20 films are selected to have the opportunity to be screened in the short film section of the Cannes International Film Festival. After the domestic preliminary round in Fukuoka, "GOOD EGG" participated in "Yes We Cannes," a special competition open only to the top-ranking teams from each city. Amidst fierce competition from over 120 teams worldwide, it was decided that "GOOD EGG" would participate in "Filmpalooza 2026," held in Lisbon, Portugal in March 2026.

The film was nominated in four categories: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Props, and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner: Rendezvous Industry.
The movie "GOOD EGG" is a mysterious story about an egg that suddenly appears in the home of a certain couple.
