Many female athletes between their teens and 20s suffer from anemia. A seminar titled ``Meals to Prevent and Improve Anemia'' was held on November 14th at Chiba Togane Campus to learn how to prevent anemia from a dietary perspective. Approximately 30 people participated, including students from the women's relay race, women's kendo, and women's softball clubs, as well as managers and coaches, as well as female students from Department of Physical Therapy Faculty of Social Work Studies are aiming to obtain qualifications to support athletes.
As the second installment of the "Female Athletes and Anemia" seminar held in June, this time, with the cooperation of Taisho Pharmaceutical, the management of Aim Service Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo), which operates a nutritional support business for athletes, was held. We received a lecture from Natsumi Shindo, a nutritionist who provides nutritional guidance to women's long-distance track and field teams.

Mr. Shindo said 1. 2. Make sure you have enough energy without skipping meals; 2. Eat a set of foods rich in protein and iron for all three meals; 3. He emphasized that the three key points to preventing and improving anemia are to include vegetables in every meal and fruits in at least two meals a day. It is important to try to get protein and iron not only from the main dish, but also from soups and side dishes, and by changing the staple food from 150g of white rice to 150g of 16-grain rice, you can easily increase your iron intake. Dr. Shindo explains that it is possible to increase the amount by 0.3 mg, using an example of a menu he provides to a women's long-distance track and field team.

Dr. Shindo will introduce in detail the recipes he actually provides to athletes that provide protein, iron, sugar, and more. ``I would be happy if you could refer to the recipe and use it for prevention.I look forward to your success,'' he said with encouragement.

Following the lecture, Ms. Arisa Yonetani from Taisho Pharmaceutical Brand Management Department 1 conducted a check for iron deficiency anemia as a review of the previous lesson. She also explained that women's femme care requires not only iron, but also vitamins and folic acid. Recognizing once again that iron deficiency leads to a chain reaction such as lack of energy and decreased exercise performance, Taisho Pharmaceutical's product ``Alfeneo'', which contains 6.8 mg of iron per bottle, was introduced, and students in attendance were asked to donate the product. Ta.

Students were seen enthusiastically asking questions even after the lecture.
