Discussion on themes that graduates have considered

A current student expressing his opinion

Although the event was in jeopardy due to the impact of the typhoon the day before, a study session for JIU graduates who are now working as teachers was held on August 2nd at Chiba Togane Campus. This was the third time the session has been held, and it is also intended to deepen interactions between alumni. A total of 11 people participated, including seven alumni who are currently working as teachers, three students from the Department Department of Management Sciences in Faculty of Management and Information Sciences who are studying in the teacher training program, and one student from Department of Inter-cultural Studies Faculty of International Humanities.

The study session was divided into two groups, with alumni and current students mixing together in a free discussion format. Faculty members who teach teacher training courses at the university also participated, and a lively discussion took place over the course of an hour and a half, covering topics such as changes in the way club advisors respond to work style reforms, how student guidance should be conducted, nationality and religion, the use of generative AI, and how to address students. Current students also proactively asked questions, and the hour and a half was almost too long.

Participating graduates said, "I gained new insights from hearing what the current students are thinking," and "I look forward to working with students who have such strong ideas about becoming teachers in the future." Current students also gave encouraging feedback, saying, "I learned a lot as I move forward on my path to becoming a teacher. I would like to come back to this event as a senior student." The event is scheduled to be held again next year.
