Josai International University Japanese Language Program provides high-quality Japanese language and culture education in a short, intensive one-year program for international students who wish to continue on to university or graduate school, as well as for short-term students.Under the motto of "easy-to-understand lessons" and "thorough and thorough instruction," we aim to improve students' overall Japanese language ability.

Japanese Language Course

The goal is for students to acquire the Japanese language skills to be able to attend undergraduate lectures.
Classes will be held in easy-to-understand Japanese for students whose Japanese level is equivalent to N5 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at the time of enrollment.
Each student learns in Japanese classes at a level that suits them, and steadily improves their Japanese language skills.

This course is designed to give international students the Japanese language skills necessary to handle academic work at the university level. The classes are conducted in Japanese that should be understandable for students whose Japanese level is equivalent to or higher than JLPT N5 at the time of enrollment into the program.
Students can study Japanese in appropriate classes to their Japanese levels and can steadily improve their Japanese language skills.

Japanese Culture Course

Our goal is to develop advanced Japanese language skills and knowledge of Japanese culture, so that your undergraduate and graduate school studies will go smoothly.
Classes will be held in Japanese for students whose Japanese level at the time of admission is equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 or higher.
You can also enroll after completing the "Japanese Language Specialized Course" (1 year).

This course aims to provide international students with advanced Japanese skills and to improve their understanding of Japanese culture so students can carry out their studies at faculty or graduate school level in an effective manner.
The classes are conducted in Japanese for students whose Japanese level is equivalent to or higher than JLPT N3 at the time of enrollment into the course.
Students who graduate from the Japanese Language Course (one year) can apply for Japanese Culture Course.

Graduation requirements

Classes at Japanese Language Program are based on a credit system.
Credits will be awarded based on a four-point evaluation of S, A, B, and C, and credits will not be awarded for an F grade.
In order to graduate from Japanese Language Program must earn a set number of credits.
The credits required to graduate Japanese Language Program are as follows:
