JIU Josai International University
The risks expected at universities include operational risks, information security risks, compliance risks, and event risks. In particular, universities face a variety of risk events, including natural disasters, infectious diseases, health hazards, mental health, work-related and academic accidents and incidents, as well as personal information leaks, Research misconduct, misuse of Research funds, entrance exam mistakes, sexual harassment, power harassment, and academic harassment. The occurrence of such risk events could seriously damage the lives, property, and reputation of not only students and staff, but also many other stakeholders (related parties), as well as the trust in the university.
Because we live in an era in which destructive, world-changing impacts are occurring simultaneously, in order for our university to achieve sustainable development, we will anticipate the occurrence of various risk events and take measures to prevent them from occurring. In addition, in preparation for the unfortunate event that a risk does materialize, we will engage in constant risk management to deal with such an event.
In order to achieve the following five objectives, our university will consider systems and countermeasures against anticipated risks, prevent the occurrence of crisis situations, and take appropriate measures to address risks in daily university operations. Organizational management shall be carried out to avoid falling into a crisis situation.
Our university will establish a university-wide risk management system. University President oversees risk management as the university's chief executive.
