Why I Chose AEC
Studying in Japan had always been my dream. Since my school years in Uzbekistan, I have been interested in Japanese language and culture, and over time I developed a strong desire to learn more about Japan and its society. After completing my bachelor's degree, I decided to pursue this dream by continuing my education in Japan.
I chose GSIA because it offers opportunities to study international development, public policy, and global governance while strengthening research and analytical skills. The program's international environment, where students from diverse backgrounds share ideas and perspectives, was especially appealing to me. In addition, the supportive and welcoming atmosphere created by the professors makes GSIA a place where students can grow both academically and personally.
What I Learned
My research focuses on how JICA's technical assistance contributes to tourism development in Uzbekistan and how local stakeholders perceive its impact, challenges, and future opportunities.
Through Professor Goro Komatsu's seminar, I have learned how to develop and refine my research through regular presentations, discussions, and constructive feedback. The seminar includes both English- and Japanese-speaking students, creating a diverse learning environment where we can exchange ideas from different cultural and academic perspectives.
Studying at GSIA has helped me deepen my understanding of international development, public policy, and tourism while strengthening my research and critical thinking skills.
Career After Graduation
After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in international cooperation and development. The knowledge I have gained through GSIA, particularly in international administration, public policy, global governance, and international development, has provided a strong foundation for this career path.
My goal is to contribute to development initiatives that promote sustainable growth and international collaboration while applying the global perspective and analytical skills I have developed at GSIA.
