Why I Chose AEC

I decided to pursue graduate studies to further develop my background in Business Administration and expand my expertise in tourism. Studying in Japan, a country with a highly developed tourism industry, inspired me to learn more about this field.

I chose GSIA because it offers not only business-related courses but also opportunities to study international policy and tourism. Its interdisciplinary curriculum and international focus allow students to examine tourism from multiple perspectives. What I appreciate most about GSIA is the supportive professors, flexible academic environment, and opportunities for field studies, all of which have contributed to my academic and personal growth.

What I Learned

My research examines the role of theatre-based tourism in post-disaster recovery in Ishikawa Prefecture.Through interviews with tourists, local residents, and other stakeholders, I explored how cultural and theatre-related activities contribute to tourism development and community revitalization. This research has strengthened my interest in the relationship between culture, tourism, and regional development.

In Professor Goro Komatsu's seminar, I regularly presented my research and received valuable feedback that helped refine my ideas. Through this experience, I developed stronger analytical and critical thinking skills, particularly in data analysis. Serving as the seminar leader (zemichou) during my second year also enhanced my communication and leadership abilities.

Career After Graduation

In the future, I hope to apply the language skills, research experience, and analytical abilities I developed at GSIA in an international industry. I would like to contribute to organizations that operate across cultures and borders while utilizing my expertise in tourism, regional development, and international communication.
