チェンマイ大学一行が来学しました

 

2026年2月27日、タイ王国のチェンマイ大学デジタルイノベーション国際学院（International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University）より、学院長のAsst. Prof. Dr. Ruiira Ouncharoen氏および留学担当責任者のDr. Bibi She氏が本学を訪問されました。

当日は、倉林眞砂斗学長、市山国際連携推進機構副機構長、ティム・ウルフステンクロフト国際人文学部教授、徐雪青国際人文学部教授が応対し、今後の学生交流の可能性について懇談を行いました。

今回の訪問は、倉林学長への表敬を兼ねるとともに、両大学間での学生交流の可能性を検討することを目的としたものです。特に、学部段階での「2＋2」型の留学プログラムの可能性や、英語による授業科目を活用した受入れの可否について意見交換が行われました。また、チェンマイ大学では日本語教育を実施していないことから、日本語能力を前提としない英語による教育プログラムの可能性や、本学における短期文化研修プログラムの実施についても関心が示されました。

懇談の後には、本学で学ぶタイからの留学生も交え、ティム・ウルフステンクロフト教授および徐雪青教授の案内により学内施設の見学を行いました。

訪問団は、本学キャンパスの国際的な雰囲気や多様な学生が学ぶ環境に強い関心を示し、今後チェンマイ大学の学生を本学へ進学させる可能性について、さらに具体的な協議を進めていきたいとの意向が示されました。今後、両大学間の交流が一層発展することが期待されます。

On February 27, 2026, a delegation from the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, Thailand, visited Josai International University. The delegation consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ruiira Ouncharoen, Dean of ICDI, and Dr. Bibi She, Head of Study Abroad.

The delegation was received by President Masato Kurabayashi, Prof. Maria Shiguemi Ichiyama, Vice Director of the International Cooperation Promotion Organization, Prof. Tim Woolstencroft of the Faculty of International Humanities, and Prof. Xu Xueqing of the Faculty of International Humanities. They exchanged views on possible avenues for future academic and student exchange between the two institutions.

The visit was intended as a courtesy call on President Kurabayashi and an opportunity to explore potential forms of cooperation between the two universities. In particular, the discussion focused on the possibility of a “2+2” undergraduate program and the feasibility of accepting students into courses taught in English. As Chiang Mai University does not currently offer Japanese language education, the delegation also expressed interest in English-medium programs as well as short-term cultural training programs at JIU.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus facilities together with Thai students currently studying at JIU, guided by Prof. Woolstencroft and Prof. Xu.

The visitors expressed strong interest in the international atmosphere of the JIU campus and the diverse learning environment shared by students from many countries. They indicated their hope to further discuss the possibility of sending Chiang Mai University students to study at JIU. It is expected that exchanges between the two universities will continue to develop in the future.
