Open Campus on July 31, 2021

We ended the semester—and the month of July–with an Open Campus session on the Togane campus. Approximately 300 people participated in the morning and afternoon sessions held by the Department of Intercultural Studies and the Department of International Exchange Studies. The key feature of the sessions today was the very active participation of our current students. They gave presentations, played the role of MCs, made and presented videos, talked to parents and students during the campus tours. Due to the Corona situation, there were limitations on the amount of time we could be together and we might not have answered all the questions they might have had. However, it is my hope that all the high school students who live nearby and the ones who traveled long distances (Hokkaido, Fukuoka etc) to be here with us today became more interested in our programs and choose to join us. We do hope to be able to contribute to the global education of a large number of both Japanese and international students. I thank you all for coming to the Togane campus today, and I also thank all JIU students for being such great representatives of our Faculty. Have a good summer, everyone!

今学期の、そして７月の締めくくりに、東金キャンパスでオープンキャンパスを開催しました。午前と午後に分けて開催された国際文化学科と国際交流学科のセッションには、約300人の方に参加していただくことができました。今日のセッションの最大の特徴は在校生が非常に積極的に参加してくれたことです。学生たちは発表をしたり、司会をしたり、ビデオの作成・上映をしたり、キャンパスツアーで保護者・生徒のみなさんの質問に答えてくれたりしました。コロナ禍のこともあり、限られた時間しかご一緒できず、参加者のみなさんのすべての質問には答えられなかったかもしれません。でも、近隣にお住いの方はもちろん、遠方（北海道や福岡など）から参加していただいた高校生の皆さんに、私たちの教育プログラムにより興味を持っていただき、城西国際大学国際人文学部を進学先に選んでいただけたら幸いです。私たちは多くの日本人学生や留学生のグローバル教育に貢献したいと思っています。本日は東金キャンパスにお越しいただき、ありがとうございました。また、在校生のみなさんには学部学科を代表して参加してくれたことに感謝します。みなさん、良い夏休みをお過ごしください！
