Why did you choose to study at graduate school? Why GSIA? What do you like about GSIA?

After spending two years working after graduation from a university in Vietnam, I decided to keep pursuing my study path to improve my qualification and get better job opportunities in the future. GSIA was my choice because the program is a great combination of the academic knowledge you expect from a master’s course and the practical skills you must have for professional occupations. This is where you can get a degree and apply learned things in real situations at the same time. One of my goals is to obtain all the special tools and skills I need to become a global citizen so that I can join the workforce everywhere, and it perfectly is one of the purposes GSIA is designed for. The thing I love the most about GSIA is the caring, tight follow-up, and dedication of all the Professors here with every single student that not only helps you successfully finish your master's thesis but also enjoys a student-oriented atmosphere and feels like home where everyone is so close.

What is your research topic? What is your seminar class like? What would you like to pursue after graduation?

My research in GSIA aims to answer the question: “Is the returned on invested capital (ROIC) of fast-moving consumer goods companies in the Asia-Pacific area impacted by the cash conversion cycle?” I am joining a seminar by Professor Goro KOMATSU where we are scheduled some certain days to regularly present and update our research’s progress, therefore our professor can direct and give us advice on how to develop the research. The most interesting part of my seminar is the diversity in research topics of students that you can learn a lot of new things from each other. This bilingual seminar also helps me improve my English and Japanese at the same time, and enjoy cultural exchange with other international students.

A message to prospective students.

Live your youth. Make your future value.
