Tanabata at JIU

Students in my seminar celebrated Tanabata on July 7 by decorating this bamboo with their own handmade ornaments and their wishes. Each student has a different personality and background and therefore we can see different styles of ornaments and all kinds of wishes. This was a fun experience especially for the international students who had never done this. 
I certainly hope everyone gets what they wished for, and also hope that you all had a good Tanabata day.

私のゼミ生たちが、笹に願いを書いたお手製の飾りをつるして、7月7日の七夕を祝ってくれました。みなそれぞれ違った個性や文化的背景を持っていて、さまざまなスタイルの飾りや違った願いを見ることが出来ます。とくに、このようなことを経験したことがない留学生には、とても楽しめる催しとなりました。みなの願いが叶うよう心からお祈りするとともに、皆さまにとって良き七夕となりますよう願っています。

Professor Nakagawa’s students also celebrated Tanabata with these post-it sheets on the 3rd floor of the H-Building. The messages here were also written in various languages.
