東京紀尾井町キャンパスのグローバルカフェ

東京紀尾井町キャンパスのグローバルカフェで、2023年度F1の最初のイベントを開催しました。10月上旬の昼休憩時にカフェの常連でもある学生さんお二人をお招きし、海外留学を考えている学生に向けて、海外での体験談を語ってもらいました。

最初に、2年生の時に韓国の仁川大学に半年間留学したメディア学部3年生の竹下凜さんがご自身の体験を話してくれました。仁川大学は韓国のソウル郊外にある本学の姉妹校で、近代的な都市型大学です。そこでは、様々な韓国の文化、言語などに興味を持つ学生が、色々なプログラムで学べるそうです。そしてアジアからだけではなく、世界各国からの学生が仁川大学で楽しく学んでいるとのことでした。

次に、経営情報学部3年生の延 凪紗さんに話していただきました。凪紗さんは2022年にアイルランドのリムリック大学に4ヶ月間留学しました。 リムリックは、アイルランドの西にある小さな町だそうです。リムリック大学では留学生は、言語、文化などのコンテンツコースで学べるそうです。今回のグローバルカフェの参加者は、文化交流を経験する多くの機会が、公式にせよ非公式にせよ存在するということを学びました。

Global Café Kioicho

The Global Café Kioicho held its first event of the 2023 fall semester in early October by welcoming two Global Café regulars to give a lunchtime talk about their overseas experiences to students thinking about going abroad themselves.

The first presentation was by Media Studies 3^rd year student Rin Takeshita who studied at Incheon University in S. Korea for 6 months in her second year. Incheon University is a sister school of JIU located just outside Seoul and is a large scale, modern, urban university with a wide-ranging program for students with an interest in all aspects of Korean culture and language. Rin explained that students from all over the world, not just Asia, enjoy learning there.

The second speech was given by Nagisa Nobu a third year student in the Faculty of Management Information. Nagisa san spent 4 months at the University of Limerick, Ireland in 2022.  Limerick is a small town on the west of Ireland with a university campus offering language, content and culture courses for visiting students. Participants learned there are a lot of formal and informal opportunities to experience cultural exchange for students who study there.
