Congratulations, Hiroaki Hidaka, on your great score on the TOEIC this month! 

He is from Miyazaki Prefectural Technical High School and is now a second-year student in the Department of International Exchange Studies and when he entered JIU last year, his score was 470. This month his score was 875. Isn’t that impressive? This is the result of his daily efforts: waking up at 4:30 to study vocabulary for 30 minutes, and later in the day, trying to dedicate seven hours to English. He spends his time not only on his studies but also on martial arts. He is a member of our Judo Club. He’s been practicing judo since age 3 when he joined his grandfather’s dojo in Miyazaki. His goal is to become an English teacher in that prefecture in the future. He is a good example of a student who takes advantage of what is available for him here at JIU: the Teaching License Program, English Café, native speakers of English, TOEIC classes and opportunities to speak English. We hope he will continue making efforts to achieve his career objectives. Congratulations on this big step!

日髙 寛朗さん、TOEICでの素晴らしいスコア（成績）、おめでとう！

彼は県立宮崎工業高等学校の出身で、現在国際交流学科の2年生です。彼が昨年、JIUに入学したとき、TOEICのスコアは470点でした。今月のスコアは875点でした。素晴らしいスコアだと思いませんか？これは彼の日々の努力のたまものです。朝4：30に起きて、語彙を30分勉強し、毎日7時間を英語の勉強に費やしてきました。でも英語だけに時間を割くのではなく武道にも力を注いできました。彼は本学柔道部の部員で、宮崎で3歳のときに祖父の道場に入門してから、柔道の練習に励んでいます。彼の目標は、将来、宮崎県で英語教員になることです。彼は、城西国際大学で得られる様々な教育機会‐教職課程プログラムや、English Caféでの英語ネイティブ・スピーカーとの活動、TOEIC対策クラスやその他さまざまな場所での英語を話す機会‐を活用している学生たちの良い例です。これからも努力を続けて、夢を達成してもらいたいと思います。大きな一歩を祝福したいと思います。
